Quick-release, minimal-contact lug casings are revolutionary in design. They attach to the shell by snapping onto post anchored at the nodal point minimize contact and maximize vibration. They also make head changes faster and easier. Shell is all maple with an exterior finish of high-gloss sparkle lacquer for greater resonance and flash look. Interior finish seals shell from humidity and enhances tone. The lightweight aluminum die-cast hoops offer accurate tuning and also allow the drum to open up much like a triple-flanged hoop without the choking associated with zinc die-cast hoops. The Vintage Series 14"x6" 4-ply maple shell with 6-ply reinforcing rings is modeled after some of the most popular vintage snare drums. The snare beds are 2.7mm deep for wide dynamic response, allowing the snares to be very loose for that classic wet, funky sound or tightened up for a crisp, dry snare sound.This Vintage Series snare drum is fitted with 8-lug, 1.6mm steel hoops to minimize the amount of metal on the shell and give the drum a soft feel.
