| Background |
Remo came to life after WWII, with the invention of Mylar®, a
polyester film made by DuPont™. The company’s founder, drummer Remo D.
Belli, recognized Mylar® as an inexpensive, durable, weather resistant
material, that when used in the construction of drumheads, provided a
better pitch, tone and consistency than skin. Soon after, the company
introduced its legendary Weatherking™ drumheads, and for decades to
come, they became drumhead specialists in virtually every musical
category. To this day, these drum heads are an industry standard. |
