Music industry guru Herb Brochstein founded Pro-Mark after
purchasing and discovering the sonic quality of Japanese Oak
drumsticks. Compared to American Hickory drumsticks at the time, the
Japanese Oak sticks produced a bright, "ping" sound on cymbals. The
sticks were hand crafted, and their quality was more consistent than
the domestic models at the time. Once Herb traced the source of these
sticks back to a Japanese trading company, he formed Pro-Mark, meaning
"the mark of a professional." To this day, Pro-Mark offers some of the
highest quality drumsticks, mallets, brushes and accessories on the
market. |
