The Craviotto Drum Company, located
in Freedom, CA, is one of the
most respected manufacturers of solid shell snare drums. Craviotto
offers several types of wood to build custom solid, one ply snare
drums. The company was founded by Johnny Craviotto, a touring
professional drummer and aspiring drum historian. With many years spent
experimenting, Craviotto developed a formula for producing drum shells
from a single piece of steam-bent hardwood. Craviotto now offers
choices such as Ash, Maple, Mahogany, and several Exotic hardwoods.
